Mandala Rosé 2018 Yarra Valley
I could live off homemade pizza and delicious rosé. My favourite match has to be a potato & chilli pizza with rosé. What’s yours?

I recently received this sample (thank you!) of the Mandala Wines 2018 Yarra Valley Rosé and couldn’t wait to give it a whirl. It mentioned in the media release that it goes well with wood-fired pizza and tapas so it was a great excuse for a pizza night.
It’s made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes (here are 7 things you might not know about the Cabernet Sauvignon grape variety) handpicked from Mandala’s Dixon Creek vineyard. The juice spent only 30mins with the skins to get its colour. Also, 35% of the juice spent some time in French oak barrels during fermentation to help build texture.
On the eye, we found this one a pale polished copper shade. It smells like rose petals, oranges, watermelon and spice. While in the mouth it has flavours of crunchy apple, orange sherbet and red berries. Also, there’s a nice vanilla hint on the finish to end the wine beautifully. Y U M !
While we’re on the topic of drinking pink, check out my guide to drinking rosé wine here.
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #winesample #tcweekdaywine
