Last night on the eve of V-day we cracked into this Mike Press 2016 Sparkling Rosé from the Adelaide Hills. This was my ‘birthday wine’ from The Wine Gallery – thank you!
Rosé and Netflix, it’s a pretty good combo if you ask me and it seemed to pair with Gotham very well 😉
This Menhir Salento Novementi Rosato comes from Salento in Italy. It’s made from the Negroamaro grape variety which is native to southern Italy (aka the ‘heel’ of Italy). Negro means black which makes sense as this variety tends to produce very deep red wines. Continue reading
Rosé and homemade 12 hour slow cooked pulled pork is a favourite combo of mine! I recently tried out a recipe from the Ripe Deli cookbook alongside homemade bbq sauce and pineapple salsa and it was insanely good teamed with this Baillieu Vineyard 2018 from Mornington Peninsula which I received from Vino Bambino recently.
This rosé is made from hand-harvested Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes. To gain the colour it spends about 6 hours with the skins (this is called maceration). It retails for $25. Continue reading

Mr Spittoon and I had an amazing time in Krabi, Thailand over the Christmas break. There’s not a huge selection of #wine choices in the area though. However one day we did find a supermarket which stocked a bit of a wider selection than the 7 Eleven’s so we thought we’d pick up a bottle to enjoy at sunset with cheese, crackers and pistachios on Ao Nang Beach.
