Hungerford Hill 2018 Sauvignon Blanc – Tumbarumba
Anyone keen on a glass of Sauvignon Blanc with some roasted spatchcock with artichoke, clams and prosciutto? It’s just one of the tasty recipes you can look forward to in the Wine Selectors 2020 Calendar Case (another great gift idea for the wine lover in your life – or you!).
I was lucky enough to receive a sample case to try out (thank you!) and it’s safe to say I was drooling over the calendar and recipes put together by winery restaurant chefs. This one is by Troy Rhoades-Brown of Hungerford Hills restaurant who has matched it to the 2018 Sauvignon Blanc from Tumbarumba (Riverina region, NSW).
Unfortunately there’s no spatchcock available around where I live, however it’s safe to safe we enjoyed the Sauvy!
In the glass it’s a lemon-lime shade. The nose is full of fresh passionfruit, melon, capsicum and lemongrass. While in the mouth it’s lovely and textural with that melon flowing through and a hint of saltiness.
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it. Keen to try it?
