Schloss Vollrads Estate 2015 Riesling
So we used up the last of my pre-prepared meals from the freezer this week. I made a stash of meals before baby TC came along and now I wish I’d made more! One of my favourite meals to make bulk of is the butter chicken recipe from the Ripe Deli cookbook. It’s delicious and reheats so well + it goes exceptionally well with Riesling.
This Schloss Vollrads Estate 2015 Riesling is a semi-dry Riesling from the Rheingau region in Germany. It retails for approx. $23/bottle.
Schloss Vollrads only grow Riesling and are masters at it. I find you can never go wrong with one of their Rieslings and this semi-dry one was absolutely perfect with our curry.
In the glass it’s an eye catching golden colour. Notes of candied lemon, juicy pears and white flowers rise up from the glass. While in the mouth it’s über fruity and bloody smashable if you ask me. Refreshing and perfectly balanced with fruit and acidity in perfect harmony.
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!
