Bass River 2016 Chardonnay – Gippsland

There are more than 50 wineries in the Gippsland region. Being more of a cool climate location, it means grape varieties like Chardonnay & Pinot Noir thrive around here.

This Bass River 2016 Chardonnay comes from Glen Forbes which is a small town located on the Bass Coast in Southern Victoria.

We’ve actually had a few bottles of this recently. It’s a delicious drop!

It’s a pale lemon shade in the glass. Hints of vanilla, spiced stonefruit and citrus zest invite you into the glass. And once it hits your mouth it’s fresh, juicy and wonderfully rounded. Definitely not in your face with oak, I’d say it’s ‘elegantly oaked’.
