This combo was in the latest monthly 3-bottle box. The recipe is prawn and sweet potato cakes with a cucumber & soy sauce type salsa.
And the wine is the Tellurian Wines 2017 Blanc from Heathcote, VIC. The blend is made up of Marsanne, Fiano and Riesling grapes. It’s not your typical mix of grapes which is why I picked it for the club this month.
Firstly it went with the prawn & sweet potato cakes really well !
In the glass it’s a pale yet vibrant shade of lemon. The nose is really intriguing. One moment I’m getting whiffs of grilled grapefruit the next a hint of kerosene, some nuts and melon. Then in the mouth it’s juicy and fresh with a bit of grapey-ness, orchard fruits and a nice acidic finish. Interesting wine!
