Introducing the Tahbilk Winery 2014 1927 Vines Marsanne. If you haven’t tried a Marsanne from Tahbilk, you need to! And this my friends, crafted from nearly 100 year old vines is pretty darn special. In fact it was not released until it achieved a wine trophy.
Have you tried wine made from the Marsanne grape variety before? It’s a white grape variety synonymous with the Rhône Valley in France and it’s not the easiest grape to grow. This combo was in the latest monthly 3-bottle box. The recipe is prawn and sweet potato cakes with a cucumber & soy sauce type salsa.
And the wine is the Tellurian Wines 2017 Blanc from Heathcote, VIC. The blend is made up of Marsanne, Fiano and Riesling grapes. It’s not your typical mix of grapes which is why I picked it for the club this month. Continue reading →

This Marsanne is so fresh and crisp right now and over the next 10 years, it’ll develop lovely honey and toasty characteristics.
