Precious Little 2018 Gruner Veltliner
I’m a sucker for a Grüner Veltliner. Anyone else a big fan of Austria’s signature white grape variety?
In fact one vine in every three grown in Austria is Grüner Veltliner, and in the north east of the country, this rises to one in every two! It produces a refreshing tangy wine and I’m loving seeing more Aussie grown GV around.
This one here is a free sample I received from Good Pair Days (thank you!!)Precious Little Wine is from South Australia’s Adelaide Hills and is a collab between Marty O’Flaherty and Adam Smith and their aim is to “find the best (little) parcels of grapes and then transform them into amazing wines without pretentiousness”.
In the glass it’s a pale lemon shade with floral notes mingled with citrus, apple and herbs rising from the glass. Apple and pear dominate the refreshing palate alongside hints of lemongrass and a lick of ginger tea. Über refreshing – a great thirst quencher!
If you’re keen to try the Good Pair Days experience don’t forget to add the code “travellingcorkscrew” for an extra discount at the checkout.
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it. By using the above promo code I will receive a small amount of commission.
