White wine made from Albariño grapes is super refreshing with edgy acidity and it can have a slight saltiness to it. My favourite match to a nice crisp glass of Albariño is chilli mussels. Y-U-M!

I received this sample bottle from Good Pair Days (thank you!). The producer is Charqunio and it comes from the Rias Baixas region in Spain. 99% of all wine produced in the Rias Baixas region is white. And while 12 grape varieties are permitted in the region, Albariño represents 96% of the vines planted. Therefore if you try Albariño and really enjoy it, then adding this region to your wine travel bucket list is a must. Continue reading
