Payten and Jones VV Series 2017 Sangiovese
Are there alcohol restrictions where you are? I’ve heard in WA and even some places in NZ you’re restricted to how many bottles of wine you can buy.
My advice? Quality over quantity people!
This arty label hails from Payten and Jones in Victoria’s Yarra Valley. It’s a 2017 Sangiovese from their VV (Valley Vignerons) range.
It was part of one of my sample Good Pair Days orders (thanks guys!). If you are yet to order from GPD, now might be the time to check them out. Plus you can get $23 off your first order using the code “travellingcorkscrew” 😉
Here’s what we thought of this Sangiovese:
Garnet shade in the glass. On the nose it’s rather farmy and savoury with some underlying berry fruit. It’s definitely rich, intense and bold which I was quite surprised about actually. In the mouth it’s lovely and smooth with friendly tannins and juicy black cherry and plum flavours.
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!
