Printhie Wines 2019 Topography Pinot Meunier
Have you tried a red wine made from 100% Pinot Meunier? I love them! If you’re a champagne lover like myself then you’re probably use to drinking Pinot Meunier in a sparkling wine blend, however as a still red wine on its lonesome it’s pretty tasty too. It’s along the lines of Pinot Noir.
I received this 2019 Pinot Meunier sample from Printhie Wines (thank you!). It is part of their ‘Topography by Printhie’ range. The grapes come from vines 940m above sea level and the wine spends a short time in a 3,500 litre French oak foudre for maturation.
Plus how cool is that label!
In the glass it’s a vibrant ruby red colour. It’s deliciously aromatic with red berries, liquorice and an earthiness to it. Maybe there’s some mushrooms in there too. While in the mouth it has juicy acidity with cherries and pomegranate coming through for me and subtle tannins. Yumo! Perfect for date night at home.
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.
