Pinelli Estate Reserve Vermentino 2018 Swan Valley
Pasta and Pinelli, is there a better match?
Since I can’t make the new-ish Pinelli Estate Winery Restaurant in Perth’s Swan Valley my local, it just means I have to order in the wine and cook my own. Thankfully free delivery helps on the wine side of things.
This Pinelli Estate Wines 2018 Reserve Vermentino is a new release and it’s a match made in heaven for this Spinach & Herb Pesto Pasta I made from the Dish Magazine. It’s supposed to be rocket leaves but we opted for a spinach replacement.
Vermentino is a white wine grape variety that is primarily found in Italy. It enjoys warmer climates, like that of Western Australia’s Swan Valley wine region.
In the glass, this Vermentino is a pale straw colour with notes of green apples, florals and fresh herbs on the nose. Those juicy, crunchy apples flow through on the palate with wonderfully racy limey citrus that cuts through the pasta with finesse. I’ll be making this recipe and drinking this vino again for sure!
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #tcweekdaywine
