Ngeringa JE Pinot Noir 2016
On the 3rd day of Christmas The Wine Gallery sent to me, a bottle of Ngeringa ‘JE’ 2016 Pinot Noir from SA’s Adelaide Hills. This little beauty also came with a matchstick box of Tasman Sea Salt.
We enjoyed this Pinot with some ham steaks done on the barbie with salad and it kicked the week off well.
Ngeringa is a biodynamic wine producer run by winemaker Erinn Klein and co-founder, Janet Klein. They focus on 4 key principles:
- Working with cycles & rhythms of nature
- No synthetic chemicals
- Working towards self-sustaining, closed-unit farming systems
- Handmade biodynamic practices as per the founder of biodynamic processes, Rudolf Steiner
Here’s my take on it..
In the glass, it’s a deep red brick colour. Cherry pie, spice and an elegant deliciousness rise from the glass. While in the mouth it’s fully of juicy cherries, cranberry acidity a hint of bay leaf and it’s just darn right yum! What a way to spend Monday!
Thank you the Wine Gallery team for making December awesome with this sample.
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #mediasample #opinionsaremyown #tcweekdaywine
