Mino & Co 2017 ‘A Growers Touch’ Chardonnay
I came across some fantastic wines on Wine Island Festival and this is one of them! We were also lucky as in the last session on the Sunday they were trying to move the stock so I bought a couple of bottles for $10 reduced from $20.
This Chardonnay from Mino & Co (also the guys behind Signor Vino) is part of their ‘a growers touch’ wine range. It celebrates the farmers who grow their grapes and emphasises the importance of terroir. The hands pictured on the bottle are those of Dino Salvestrin, a long time grape grower for Mino & Co. There’s a great little story on the back label.
Mino & Co hail from the Riverina region in NSW.
In the glass, it has an enticing golden hue. Notes of stone fruit, honey, mandarin and chamomile with a hint lemon come through on the nose. While in the mouth it has upfront fruitiness and a lovely dry finish. Think spiced stone fruit and creamy honeydew melon. Bargain for $10.
