Pinelli Estate 2018 Reserve Verdelho
I love my Verdelho (as you can probably tell from the empty bottle)! And WA alongside NSW produce some stellar examples including this Pinelli Estate Wines 2018 Reserve Verdelho.
This one is dry but Verdelho can be made into sweet and fortified wine too. This white wine grape variety loves warm dry climates like that of Perth’s Swan Valley.
If grown and made well Verdelho can produce super tasty young wines and also wines that can age very well in the cellar.
In the glass, this one’s a pale yellow shade. On the nose, it’s full of lemon citrus and as Mr Spittoon puts it, it smells a bit like Brie cheese with apricot bits in it! Creamy and fruity I guess you could say! In the mouth, those apricots join flavours of nectarines and peach for an orchard fruit medley then there’s a nice acidic citrus kick. More please!
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #tcweekdaywine
