De Iuliis 2020 Special Release Shiraz Tempranillo Rose
What do think of my plating up? Spanish tapas at its finest right.
We had a bit of Spanish night on Saturday when we decided to crack into our Miguel Maestre @thecrazybull The Chef Collection 6-pack media sample from Wine Selectors (thank you!). We opted for the all white/rosé pack, however there’s also an all red and mixed packs which all retail for $140 (see comments for more info).
Naturally we thought some of Chef Miguel’s Australian Free Range Jamon would be a great way to start the evening alongside this bottle of De Iuliis 2020 Special Release Shiraz Tempranillo Rosé from NSW’s Hunter Valley wine region.
The grapes for this Rosé were the first to be harvested from De Iuliis’s newly planted Shiraz and Tempranillo blocks and I have to admit it’s a bloody good first crop! This Rosé was made exclusively for Wine Selectors and it matches Miguel’s delectable paella recipe which comes along in the recipe book with your 6-pack of wine.
In the glass this rosé is a pale pinky peach colour with delicate red berries and citrus aromas dancing up out of the glass. In the mouth it’s elegant, refreshing and darn right moreish. It’s one of those bottles that really needs to come in a bigger size. It vanished just about as quickly as the packet of Jamon.
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.
