Arlo Wine Bar – Portarlington, Bellarine Peninsula (A Must Visit in 2024!)

Hey Portarlington, there is a newish wine bar in town! Meet Arlo Wine Bar. It is located on the hill up to town from the jetty, where Edina Waterfront Cafe used to be at 1A Harding St, Portarlington VIC 3223.

We initially visited on their second day of trading (Friday 22nd December 2023) and were operating at a limited capacity however we did manage to nab a glass of Provence Rose ($14 per glass) and get a peek at the food and wine by the bottle menus.

After seeing the menus, we knew we had to go back as soon as they were offering full service, so we did on Friday 29th of December 2023 and then just recently on the 2nd of February 2024.

And let me tell you, I am sooooo excited to have Arlo just up the road from us. We both loved the food, the wine list is interesting, the staff were amazingly friendly, and the views are simply gorgeous.

They have both a wine by the glass and wine by the bottle wine list. Prices are very fair (in fact glass prices start from $10 which is a steal these days!) and as mentioned, there are some interesting little numbers to choose from.

Both times we have visited we have divulged in Chenin Blanc – I am just loving it at the moment, especially after my Loire Valley trip last year.

I cannot wait to go back and taste more off this scrumptious wine menu.

It is owned by the same people as Pier St Cafe just down the road. There are hopefully also plans for the venue to offer wines to take home too.

I cannot wait to see and taste more from Arlo in Portarlington, I reckon it is going to be a hit – especially in the location they are with those amazing waterfront views. Make sure to follow Arlo on Instagram for more updates!
