Margaret River Wineries: Voyager Estate Lunch Discovery Menu
Disclosure: The Travelling Corkscrew was hosted with compliments of Voyager Estate.
Six courses matched with six wines which tell the story of Voyager Estate. I have never had such a mind-blowing dining experience and I have to say a HUGE thank-you to the Voyager team for inviting me along. The Discovery Menu at Voyager Estate is not just a dining experience, it is an interactive journey through food, wine and the history of the property. You are delivered post cards by the wonderful wait staff before the surprise dish comes out. For one of the courses you even get the honour of the chef coming to your table to explain the deliciousness in front of you.
I could write 5000 words on how amazing this experience was but I’m going to do this post a little differently and let the photos tell the story. But first I want to let you all know that this was an amazing experience and every single staff member was absolutely fantastic – nothing tops off a lovely meal than great customer service.
So here are the pictures of my 3 hour Voyager sensory adventure…
Dukkah-crusted labna egg, beetroot soil matched with the Voyager Estate 2013 Chenin Blanc
Poached marron, baby root vegetables, marron foam matched with the 2012 VOC Collection Sauvignon Blanc
Smoked spatchcock, mushrooms, chardonnay jelly matched with the Voyager Estate 2010 Chardonnay
Slow-cooked pork belly, six-spice broth matched with Voyager Estate 2011 Shiraz
Wagyu, potato twigs, truffle vinaigrette matched with Voyager Estate 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot
Goats cheese & caramel mousse, orange & tea jelly matched with 2012 VOC Collection Cane-Cut Semillon
The Discovery Menu is $110 for the food only or you can choose a $150 or $180 package with wines included. We opted for the $180 package as it included 6 wines, 3 of these were museum vintage. I was honoured to be invited free of charge however we paid for Mr. Spittoon and we both agree it is fantastic value. Click here for more information on the Voyager Estate Discovery Menu.
