The Travelling Corkscrew Year in Review 2015
What a year it has been for the Travelling Corkscrew! We have tried so many new wines, visited a number of new wineries, held our own exclusive TC wine tour in the Swan Valley and yes we admit we have suffered from the wine flu just a couple of times throughout the year. I wanted to take this opportunity to look back at the highlights for the TC in 2015…
Over 300 Tasting Notes
I have played around with posting these on the blog, however I find it easier and more accessible for you guys to post to a Tasting Notes album on Facebook. Check it out below and keep an eye out for the 2016 version!
I also post the notes to Instagram, Twitter and the wine apps Vivino, Vinus and Delectable. According to my profile on Vivino I’m currently ranked 38th in Australia and I’m a sucker for Aussie Chardonnay, French Champagne and Aussie Shiraz – I can’t argue with that!
105 New Blog Posts
In 2015, there were 105 new posts, growing the total archive of this blog to 479 posts.
I admit I have definitely slacked off this month which is why I was shocked at finding out I’ve posted over 100 new posts this year! I am a bit of geek when it comes to stats seeing as I work in the SEO industry, so I wanted to share my top 5 most visited blog posts in 2015 with you all:
- How long does wine keep once opened? (You’ll be shocked!!)
- 10 Delicious Mulled Wine Recipes
- Dog-Friendly Swan Valley Wineries
- Why does white wine affect me more than red wine?
- The School of Wine – Wine Appreciation Courses in Perth
Over 76,000 Visits to the Blog
It’s always good to see more and more people finding the blog whether it’s through social media, Google or word of mouth. A huge thank-you to everyone who has visited the blog this year and who has shared an article or told someone about my lovely little wino hobby! Compared to 2014, the blog has experienced a 130% increase in visitors – wohooo!
The Louvre Museum has 8.5 million visitors per year. This blog was viewed about 76,000 times in 2015. If it were an exhibit at the Louvre Museum, it would take about 3 days for that many people to see it.The busiest day of the year was December 9th with 839 views. The most popular post that day was Cork & Bottle Old Perth Road – Bassendean.

I love how interactive social media is and I have had the pleasure of chatting with so many of you through it! Keep posting to the TC Facebook wall, tweeting, pinning and Instagramming with the TC in 2016!
