Pearls for Wine Lovers – Introducing Proud Pearls
It’s always such a feel-good moment when someone compliments you on your outfit, appearance or a new piece of jewellery (whether they’ve had a few wines or not, it’s always welcome in my books!). Recently my lovely friend ‘L’ gave me an absolutely stunning gift which fits my wine-enthusiast personality so well. It also seems to catch the eye of a lot of like-minded wine loving fashionistas out there!
So today I want to take a moment to introduce you to my newest piece of wine jewellery – Proud Pearls. Dutch designer, Hannelore de Weijer, works with a close-knit team from around the world to hand-make and distribute a gorgeous range of pearl jewellery from necklaces to bracelets. The range is full of stunning pieces but it’s the customised wine-inspired pieces that caught my attention, naturally.
‘L’ specially ordered my bracelet below which is made of ‘champagne gold’ coloured faux suede leather braided with baroque freshwater pearls, crystal beads and wine charms. I absolutely love the little charms which include a wine bottle, bunch of grapes, wine glass, and oh so fittingly – a corkscrew.
The faux suede comes in Bordeaux Red and Semillon Green as well as a ton of other colours. I couldn’t look past the Champagne Gold though as it has the most beautiful shimmer to it when you see it up close.
How gorgeous are these – I seriously want one in EVERY colour!
There are two types of pearls used by the team at Proud Pearls:
- AAA – quality pearls which are the highest standard of pearls you can get, they also have the most consistent roundness and luster
- Baroque pearls have a more distinctive appearance due to their whimsical shape (which you’ll notice on my bracelet)
The ‘Pure Collection’ starts at around AU$49 a pop and the good news is, those in Perth and Melbourne can find Proud Pearls at local stockists. If you are particularly after the wine-y pieces, then I suggest you head to Jane Brook Estate in the Swan Valley. For all other local stockists please click here.
To browse more of the Proud Pearls collection, please visit their website and make sure to follow them on Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram. If you’re interested in a bespoke pearl piece, make sure to contact Hannelore as your ‘dream piece’ may just be doable!
They definitely are Melissa, I’m head over heels for mine 🙂
Oh my….they truly are gorgeous!
