Wills Domain Mystic Spring 2018 Shiraz
Any wine with a recommended food match for pizza is a winner in my eyes. Nothing beats pizza and wine for me!
What’s the wine and food match you can never turn down?
I recently received this Mystic Spring 2018 Shiraz from Wills Domain Winery (thank you!!) in WA’s Margaret River. The recommended food matches are “Beef with pepper sauce. Pizza. Aged Cheddar Cheese.” I’ll take all 3 and 3 glasses of wine thanks, who’s cooking??
Unfortunately our meal wasn’t that exciting, however here’s what we noted down on the wine:
It’s a deep plum shade in the glass. Notes of plum and berry jam, cedar wood and spices rise from the glass. While in the mouth it is fruity with hints of anise and a nice dry finish thanks to the lovely integrated tannins. Mr Spittoon describes it as a ‘dry jam donut’.
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!
