Tar & Roses 2019 Nebbiolo Rosé – Heathcote, VIC
I have had very few rosé wines made from Nebbiolo – from those I’ve had though, they have been fantastic. 3drops from Western Australia do a great Nebbiolo Rose and now I have another one to add to the list – introducing the Tar & Roses Heathcote 2019 Nebbiolo Rosè.
A big thank you to Narelle King the lead winemaker and owner of Tar & Roses did sending this sample my way. I love to help spread the word on fabulous #womeninwine.
The Tar & Roses brand is in fact named after 2 of the signature characteristics of the Nebbiolo grape which originated from Italy.
We enjoyed this with a cheese and charcuterie platter. We actually had this type of dinner 3 nights in a row last week – I was definitely making up for 9+ months with soft cheese and cold meats.
This wine retails for $32 which you can buy via tarandroses.com.au
In the glass it’s a pale peach colour with glistening orange highlights. On the nose it made me think of berry yoghurt, with a bit of florals, a hint of sweet aniseed and refreshing orange citrus. While in the mouth it’s delicate yet flavoursome and elegant. A gorgeous rosé which I’d highly recommend trying especially if you love those South of France style rosés but want something a little different.
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.
