Moss Brothers Fidium 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon
Did you know that ‘Fidium’ means ‘attuned’?
And in the case of this 2019 Moss Brothers Margaret River Wines Fidium Cabernet Sauvignon which I kindly received as a sample (thank you!!) it’s that the Moss Brothers winemakers are attuned with the vineyard and its “cycles, its idiosyncrasies, its aspect and of course its full terroir profile.”
And yes that’s my glass on the left in the picture (a Riedel specific Cab Sauv glass) and Mr Spittoon’s glass is on the right 😉
Here’s a bit more about this Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon:
- 18 months maturation
- Made by winemakers Kate Morgan & Rory Parks
- 5-7 year cellaring potential
- Recommended food match: slow roasted lamb roast with Moroccan spice
- 14% abv

Here’s our tasting note:
It’s a juicy red black cherry colour in the glass. Cassis, spice, oak and some savoury black olive and bay leaf come through on the nose. While in the mouth it’s juicy, silky and has an exquisite finesse to it for a Cab Sauv. It’s refined, balanced and has lovely notes of black and blue berries and tobacco.
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.
