Moondarra Cuvee Maree NV
On the 12th day of Christmas, The Wine Gallery sent to me, a bottle of Moondarra Cuvee Maree NV from Gippsland, Victoria. This lucky last bottle in my wine advent calendar topped off the #12winesofchristmas ??
Fun fact about Moondarra: Their Pinot Noir is named ‘Conception’ because the winemaker/owners eldest son was conceived in the middle of the vineyard ?
This bottle of Maree however, is named after his wife. It’s made from predominately Pinot Noir with a touch of Chardonnay.
It’s a blush peach colour in the glass. Hints of apples, cherries and crisp lemon rise from the glass. While in the mouth it reflects the aromas with a lovely refreshing and smooth mouthfeel. Dry and delicious!
We enjoyed it with our lemon and herb crusted chicken on the bbq and we shared the little Xmas pud which also matched quite nicely.
