Marri Wood Park 2018 Sauvignon Blanc Semillon
Who’s a fan of SBS or SSB’s?
To be honest, I hadn’t consumed a lot of them until I lived in WA. They’re rather popular in the West and I must admit they’re a darn great way to take the edge off on a scorching day.
This 2018 Sauvignon Blanc Semillon was sent to me as a sample from the lovely folks at Marri Wood Park in Margaret River (thank you!). Margs has the ideal growing conditions for this 2 grape varieties.
Marri Wood are an organic, biodynamic and dry grown vineyard who are family owned and operated.
For this SBS, the Sauvignon blanc is fermented in steel tanks and the Semillon goes into old French oak for two months.
In the glass it’s as beautiful as a yellow diamond. On the nose I picked up hints of feijoa, pear muffins, fresh herbs and lemongrass. While in the mouth it’s fresh and juicy, with a savoury nutty kick and a lovely flavoursome finish. A great match to our pork chow mein.
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.
