Lou Miranda Estate Leone Rosato 2018
Sunday’s are for good wine and chill time with the fam, including the fur family.
This new 2018 rosé release from Lou Miranda Estate, in SA’s Barossa Valley, retails for $23 and is made from a blend of Shiraz, Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio. The ‘Leone’ range from Lou Miranda is in honour of the family’s Nonna, Caterina Leone. Leone means lion in Italian.
And of course, when I learnt about the lion reference, this crazy cat lady immediately thought about the ‘lions’ in her living room.
Rosato is Italian for rosé. This delicious pinky-peach wine is full of brightness from the colour to the nose to the palate. Strawberries with a sprinkling of baking spice and a bite of nectarine with a hint of lemon come through on the nose for me. While in the mouth it’s full of zesty citrus and vibrant red berries. It’s incredibly easy drinking and the hint of fruit sweetness in it makes it a great food wine.
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #sample #tcweekdaywine
