Josef Chromy NV Tasmanian Cuvée
Last, but definitely not least, in the Wine Selectors 2019 Calendar Collection (a great gift idea for Christmas) we have the Josef Chromy Wines NV Tasmanian Cuvée sparkling wine. This beauty is matched with chef Nick Raitt’s slow baked salmon, ceviche salmon, salad and sparkling oyster cream – YES PLEASE.
The cool climate of Tazzie is known for producing word class bubbles and I must admit this bottle of Josef Chromy went down an absolute treat, in fact, it hardly touched the sides.
- Pinot Noir 58%, Chardonnay 41.5% and Pinot Meunier 0.5% grown at their estate vineyard at Relbia (northern Tasmania)
- Hand picked & whole bunch pressed
- 18 months on yeast lees
In the glass, it’s a silver yellow shade. Notes of fresh apple slices, vanilla bean and flaky pastry rise from the glass. While in the mouth it’s exceptionally smooth in texture with delicate and elegant bubbles. Flavours of apple and refreshing lemon acidity intertwine with a hint of toast. A true pleasure to drink.
Thank you Wine Selectors for sending over this festive sample.
