Mainegra Cava Brut Nature
On the first day of Christmas The Wine Gallery sent to me, a bottle of Mainegra Cava Brut Nature from Spain. This is the first bottle in my Wine Advent Calendar as you may have seen in my video.
Also in day 1 was a little tasting bottle of Grampians Olive Co.’s Truffle Infused Organic EVOO.
I was really excited to find a bottle of cava behind the first door of our advent calendar as Mr Spittoon and I spent 6 weeks in the Penedes region in Spain drinking cava every day back in 2011.
This cava:
- Is certified organic
- Spends over a year on its lees
I loved it! It’s a crisp yellow colour with a golden shimmer to it in the glass. Vibrant notes of cut apples and pears with a hint of brioche and lemon tempt the nostrils. While in the mouth it has a smooth & creamy mouthfeel and it tastes just like you’re biting into the most delectable apple of your life. The wonderfully refreshing citrusy finish leaves your mouth watering for more.
