Hollydene Estate JUUL Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2015
I wouldn’t normally think about having an aged SBS (Sauvignon Blanc Semillon). This one here from Hollydene Estate is from the 2015 vintage, so 6 years old currently! And you know what? You’d never guess it from the taste! Well there are a couple of hints but it’s still so fresh and juicy.
A big thank you to Hollydene for sending us this sample of their JUUL 2015 Sauvignon Blanc Semillon from the Upper Hunter Valley.
What I think is extra sweet about this wine (not literally, it’s definitely a dry wine) is this wine is dedicated to the owners 8 grandchildren and they even go as far as naming them on the back label and saying “who have given so much joy in life like this wine”. How darn sweet right!

My tasting note
Bright golden yellow shade in the glass with slightly floral and herbaceous aromas to it. There’s a lick of honeysuckle and pawpaw in there with maybe a whiff of minerality too. In the mouth it’s clean, fresh and crisp. It’s like a juicy palate cleanser with lemon, navel orange and a nearly waxy finish to it.
