Heirloom Vineyards 2019 Barossa Valley Shiraz

Shiraz and curry – get in my belly!! I love this combo, it just hits the spot for me. What’s your favourite Shiraz food match?
Sending a big thanks over to Heirloom Vineyards for this 2019 Barossa Valley Shiraz sample bottle. It really was a match made in heaven for our spicy chicken curry.
This wine has won many awards such as:
- Sommelier International Wine & Spirits Competition 2020 – Gold Medal, 93 Points
- San Francisco International Wine Show 2020 – Gold Medal
It was matured in both American and French oak for 18 months and retails for $40. The winemakers behind this fab bottle are Elena Brooks & Rosie Signer. Nice work ladies.
My tasting note:
It’s a generous blue-purple-red colour in the glass. Super beautiful! Fresh juicy berry fruits, sweet vanilla, black pepper and some delicious dark chocolate come through on the nose for me. While on the palate it’s refined yet has an oh la la depth of flavour to it and it hangs around in the mouth long after you swallow. A true pleasure to drink!
