Curtis Family Vineyards 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon
Even before 2020 and all the lock downs, Mr Spittoon and I were pretty good at date night at home. We really only need a good bottle (or two) of wine.
This bottle of Curtis Family Vineyards ‘Heritage’ 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon was a free gift (thank you!!) and it was just what we needed for a wet and wintry date night in.
Curtis Family Vineyards was established in 1973 in McLaren Vale, South Australia. The name and logo is thought to have come from ‘Curtius’ – a noble and wealthy family of the First and Second Centuries AD, the Roman Empire era originating from the Latinium people.
A great wine to match with movies like Gladiator, The Eagle and Centurion perhaps.
We found this cab a cherry red shade in the glass. Smooth oak and cassis notes rise from the glass with a bit of black olive and earthiness to it. In the mouth it’s very smooth and elegant, plus it has a nice warmth to it Flavours of juicy blackberries come through, it’s fruity yet has a satisfying savoury finish. Yum!
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.
