Coal Valley Vineyard 2017 Sauvignon Blanc
International Sauvignon Blanc Day was pretty darn good in our house! We had a batch of Snoop Dogg’s Mac & Cheese ready to go and I pulled this Coal Valley Vineyard 2017 Sauvignon Blanc out of the cellar to consume.
We picked up this bottle on our trip to Tasmania last year when we visited the cellar door. It was just as good as we both remembered too! The Coal River Valley Region is just out of Hobart, an easy day trip. Check out my Tasmanian Wineries blog for more details.
The fresh and crisp wine was the perfect tipple to cut through all that cheesy goodness in our dish. Here’s my notes on the wine:
It’s a pale straw colour in the glass with hint of green. The nose is rather vivacious with fresh passionfruit, melon and grassiness coming through. While in the mouth it’s simply so delicious. It’s juicy and thirst quenching with that passionfruit coming through alongside gooseberry and it has a nice citrus pop. Devine!
Did you celebrate? What did you pop?
