Cat Amongst The Pigeons Fat Cat Barossa Shiraz 2017

A few posts back you may have spotted my tasting note on the new Cat Amongst The Pigeons Fat Cat Eden Valley Chardonnay – this is its counterpart, a 2017 Barossa Valley Shiraz.
A big thanks to Dialouge PR for sending this sample over. Fizzy and Crackle weren’t too fussed on the wine (more for me haha) but they thought it looked pretty cool beside their Lazy Cat Hammock.
This wine and the Fat Cat range can be found at Dan Murphy’s and BWS for $29.
I found it a deep garnet colour in the glass with a purple tinge. On the nose it made me think of peppered blackberries, oak wood, spiced chocolate and fruit. It really made me think of Black Forest. In the mouth it’s juicy with a smooth texture and is easy drinking. It has a lovely black cherry finish.
