Blue Hills Estate Arcadia 2008 Riesling

While my parents were visiting recently I dug into my cellar and knowing my mum is a Riesling lover, came out with this 2008 Great Southern (WA) Riesling from Blue Hills Estate Arcadia. We had it with salmon and some crispy garlic and thyme boulangerie potatoes.

I picked this up (and some of its older siblings) at the Albany Wine & Food Festival a couple of years ago and I’m happy to say it’s still got some years in it!

In the glass, it’s a lovely golden shade with mango, spiced citrus and soft wafts of saltiness. The palate is still rather fresh with rounded lemon citrus and an interesting hint of smoke on the finish. Yum!
