O’Leary Walker 2020 Nero d’Avola – Seasonal Release
I love me a summer red wine with a bbq! Did anyone else play the game of using up the Christmas ham in as many different ways as possible in December?
We managed; sandwiches, ham steaks, pasta, pizza and even Baby TC got stuck in on the action with ham fingers.
A big thanks to O’Leary Walker Wines in South Australia for sending us over a sample of their new release 2020 Nero d’Avola for us to try. Every last drop was enjoyed with our ham steaks.
This is an ultimate summer red for the bbq in my opinion. It is the second release of this wine from O’Leary Walker. It spends six months in seasoned French oak and is made in a bright, juicy and easy-to-drink style.
We found it a plummy purple red colour in the glass. Summer red berries and cherries dominate the aromas with a fresh nearly mint like whiff to it as well. It’s extremely thirst quenching and it’s just bloody easy to drink! Highly enjoyable! $28/bottle or $168 in a 6-pack.
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!
