Water Wheel Chardonnay Bendigo 2019
Who’s loving all these online tastings?
I most definitely am! I had baby TC in April, therefore I wasn’t planning on going out much anyway + I live rural so I definitely don’t get the chance to go to in-person tastings these days.
Therefore this emergence of virtual wine tastings has been the best thing for me! I’ve even started a post on the blog where you can learn about upcoming online tastings: Travelling Corkscrew
Last Friday I was invited to join the Bendigo Heritage Uncorked tasting (thank you Bendigo Region Wines for the samples) and loved it!
Actually there are 4 more of these coming up, details in the blog post mentioned above.
It was a great intro to the Bendigo wine region which is 90 mins from Melbourne. And we discovered this absolutely delicious Chardonnay!
Introducing the Water Wheel Vineyards 2019 Chardonnay made by winemaker Amy Cumning.
In the glass it’s a bright golden hue with lovely creamy, buttery notes mixed with flint. It’s extremely well balanced on the palate with lavish honeydew melon and citrus flavours. It’s deliciously intricate. It’s quite high in alcohol (14% I think it was) which I noticed fairly quickly.
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!
