Berton Vineyard ‘The Black’ Shiraz
I do love me a red wine matched to a bbq feast. Mr Spittoon recently cooked up some sausages and meatball + halloumi skewers and they went down a treat with this limited release Shiraz.
Thank you Leigh & the team at Berton Vineyard for sharing this sample bottle with me.
Here’s a bit more about it:
- It’s a blend of Mount Lofty (SA), Gundagai (NSW) and Heathcote (VIC) Shiraz.
- $18 per bottle.
- Gold medal winners at the 2020 New Zealand International Wine Show.
- Stored in new French and American oak for 14 months.
We found it a rich, dark red velvet colour in the glass. Black and blue berries, warmth and spice rise from the glass. While in the mouth it’s incredibly moreish with plentiful flavours of forest berries and vanilla spice. Very easy to consume.
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.
