BAIE Wines 2019 Shiraz – Bellarine Peninsula
We recently tried our first BAIE wines from here in the Bellarine Peninsula. They had an epic Christmas sale on and I just couldn’t resist.
BAIE is a small batch family owned, operated and ‘orientated’ winery. The BAIE vineyard was established in 2000 and they started their own label in 2006.
The climate here is cool (to give you an idea of where the Bellarine is, it’s across the bay from Melbourne city). So if you like cool climate wines, pop BAIE on your list to try.
I posted about the BAIE Sauv Blanc a few weeks back (scroll back to the post about dinosaur pasta wine matching). And recently we cracked into this 2019 Shiraz. It’s wild fermented and matured in premium French oak for 16 months. $30/bottle.
We really enjoyed how delicious and juicy this Shiraz is. So many yummy berry and plum notes with a lick of spice and elegant tannins on the finish. Yum!
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!
