You may know Windfall Wine Estate for their stunning Merlot’s however I’m here to let you know they also make many other great tipples including a Sauv Blanc.
A big thanks to Windfall for sending over this 2019 ‘Frog Song’ Sauvignon Blanc sample made from Geographe grapes in WA. This one retails for $21 and the team at Windfall practice biodynamic wine farming techniques.
The name Frog Song is inspired by the frogs who populate the property and provide the sound track for the vineyard.
We found this one a pale morning sunlight colour in the glass. The nose is fresh and juicy making me think of peaches, passionfruit, lime rind and freshly picked herbs. While in the mouth those orchard and tropical fruits flow through alongside sparkling minerality and fruity crisp acidity on the finish. Yum, your descriptors make me thirsty Mr Spittoon!
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.
