Bailey Wine Co 2017 Grampians Shiraz
I do love my Aussie Shiraz. In fact according to my Vivino app profile it’s what I drink the most of and have rated over 116!
I received this sample of the 2017 Grampians Hyde Park Vineyard Shiraz from the lovely folk at Bailey Wine Co recently (thank you!). Who you’ll be glad to know take orders online and deliver to your door 🙂
The grapes come from a single vineyard and it retails for $30 a bottle. I sniffed it and Mr Spittoon sipped it while we indulged in a homemade curry. Shiraz is one of my favourite curry matches.
Here are our notes:
It’s a rich black plum red colour in the glass. On the nose it made me think of black and red plums, spicy oak / exotic wood, sweet spice, warmth and juicy chocolates covered blackberries. While in the mouth, firstly Mr Spittoon said it was a great match for the curry. It’s nice and fruity with cedar and spice notes coming through and has a lovely long finish.
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!
