Trentham Estate – The Family NV Prosecco
I am loving this fresh new look for Trentham Estate’s Italian wine range! A big thanks to the team for sending me over samples of their latest releases to try.
‘The Family’ range are all Italian varietal wines. There are now 8 wines in the range and I will be sharing my notes on the Pinot Grigio, Vermentino and Nero d’Avola soon. So stay tuned.
Prosecco is made from the Glera grape variety and there are some great Aussie Prosecco’s now being produced. In fact Trentham’s Prosecco won the top award in its class at the Royal Adelaide Wine Show in 2018.
This Murray Darling Prosecco retails for only $18 which is a real steal. You can purchase it at the cellar door, online via the Trentham Estate website and at retailers around the country.
We decided to kick off our weekend with a few glasses. Here are my notes for it:
It’s a pale white gold colour in the glass with a nice steady stream of small bubbles zooming up from the bottom of the glass. On the nose it makes me think of fresh apples and pears with a nice crisp citrus zing to it. In fact the spritz of the wine really tickles the nostrils and oh boy does it smell like it’ll cool you right down in summer. In the mouth it has a very fine mouthfeel (mousse) with a smooth and a little bit tangy after taste. Super refreshing and crisp, bring on summer!
This wine was sent to me direct from the winery as a sample. I was under no obligation to post about it.
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!
