Taltarni 2019 Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre
Mr Spittoon was definitely the one pouring this red – look at all those drip marks on the label!
This 2019 GSM is part of Taltarni Vineyards ‘Dynamic’ range – “The Taltarni ‘dynamic’ range of wines represents the style, taste and artistic expression of our winemakers.”. It retails for $26 and is made from Grenache 39%, Shiraz 34% and Mourvèdre 27% from Victoria’s Pyrenees region.
A big thanks to Taltarni for sending this sample our way. It definitely made for a great mid-week wine – perfect for winter!
In the glass it’s a cherry flesh red colour. On the nose it made me think of berry pie dusted with vanilla and there’s also a whiff of oak in there. In the mouth those berry flavours flow through alongside notes of cherries and plums but there’s also some earthiness and spiciness to it too. Very approachable and lip-lickingly delicious!
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.
