Every time I have a glass of rosé I wonder when they’re going to hurry up and add a rosé emoji! It’s essential don’t you think?
This Millon Wines 2017 Clare’s Secret Rosé from SA’s Clare Valley is made from 100% Grenache grapes and retails for $18. Like the Riesling we tried recently, it has a heat-sensitive label for a unique touch.
A big thanks to Millon Wines for sending this sample over. We enjoyed it with a bbq dinner on the weekend in this 37 degree ‘autumn’ weather.
On the eye it’s a bright copper colour (#nofilter on the bbq pic) while on the nose it made me think of fresh cherries dusted with icing sugar alongside a red rose/floral perfume. In the mouth it’s über fruity with plentiful strawberry flavours and a nice refreshing lick of lemon on the finish. Very drinkable and a match made in heaven for our pork snags.
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!
