Fratin Brothers Tempranillo 2018 – Grampians
Anyone else love a bbq on a Sunday night? I reckon it’s the perfect way to have a chilled out end to the week.
And of course, it’s mandatory to have wine with a bbq right 😉
I recently collaborated with Made The Grampians Way to help promote their new website and support many Grampians wineries who have been impacted by Covid this year.
And this delightful sample was included – thank you!
I reckon Tempranillo is a great bbq wine as it’s just so darn approachable and incredibly food friendly.
This Fratin Brothers 2018 Tempranillo retails for $24. The vineyard was planted in 1998 by brothers Dino and Michael Fratin. They are the sons of Serge Fratin who established the well renowned Mt Langi Ghiran Vineyards with his brothers Don and Lino. The vineyard is located 50km from the Grampians National Park and is made up of 8-acres at high altitude.
We found this Tempranillo a ruby red colour in the glass with elegant black cherries, spice and earth rising from the glass. It’s juicy yet savoury in the mouth with cherries and plums and a nice lick of vanilla. Very yummy and even Mr Spittoon really enjoyed it and he’s not a big red wine drinker!
This wine was sent to me as a sample to taste and post about. All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!
