Tasted on 24 November 2020
Rosé bubbles anyone?
Thank you very much Taltarni for sending us a sample of your 2013 new release Cuvée Rosé to taste. It was the perfect after work tipple – in fact I didn’t even take the time to change out of my work shirt, I was that eager to get stuck in!!
This Rosé sparkler is made from Pinot Noir (52%), Chardonnay (46%) and the remainder Pinot Meunier from a mix of regions in VIC, SA and TAS.
It sells for $26 however if you’re in the Taltarni Cellar Key Club you can get it for $20.80. Plus if you join this season you get a free Taltarni magnum with your first delivery.
We found it a pale peachy salmon colour in the glass. On the nose, for me, I thought it smelt like shortbread, red berries and there’s a hint of lemongrass citrus too. In the mouth it’s super smooth and gluggable with flavours of peach, raspberry, lemon and orange coming through for me. Delish!
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.

This $26 Taltarni Vineyards 2013 Cuvée Rosé would be a fantastic breakfast option in my opinion. Thank you to the Taltarni team for sending this bottle my way to taste!

It’s made from 52% Pinot Noir, 46% Chardonnay and 2% Pinot Meunier. It also underwent partial malolactic fermentation in oak with selected Chardonnay components to further enhance the structure of the wine.
In the glass it’s such a pretty peach shade while on the nose I picked up whiffs of strawberry jam, grapefruit zest and some rose petals. While in the mouth it just goes down so well! The mousse is super soft and delicate with some biscuitiness at the front of the palate and an über dry and crisp finish.
