Hunter’s Dream 2018 Shiraz – Hunter Valley
I must admit, I love pulling out the corkscrew. It seems to be so far and few between uses these days. There’s just something romantic about hearing that cork pop don’t you think?

It may be the middle of winter, however this Hunter’s Dream Estate 2019 ‘Harmony’ Rosé from NSW’s Hunter Valley gave me some major summertime vibes. It’s got some natural residual sweetness to it which I thought would balance out our spicy chicken enchiladas well – and oh boy it did!
So I definitely had a bit of baby brain over March and April as I ordered this Comyns & Co. 2017 Mrs White Blend from the Hunter Valley (NSW) not once but twice in a row without realising it. I aim to order new wines each time.
How does this sound… a crisp glass of Hunter Valley Semillon and a bowl full of Prosciutto and Scallop Fettuccine? Yes please!
Chardonnay never lasts long in our house, it is similar for anyone else? I recently received this sample from Cellarmasters (thank you!!) and we couldn’t wait to get stuck in. On a recent ALDI Australia browse I spotted this Tulloch Wines Limited Edition 2018 Verdelho for $12 and thought I’d give it a whirl. There are 6 different bottle designs, each with a unique quote on like this one’s ‘calm is a superpower’. But that’s not all, if you unwrap the bottle on the inside…
Semillon grapes make such delicious wine and the Hunter Valley is renowned for producing epic ones. This 9th Fable by Usher Tinkler Wines 2018 Hunter Semillon is sold exclusively through Cellarmasters at $17 per bottle. I like this little snippet on the label:
This food and wine match makes me drool. In Wine Selectors 2019 Calendar Collection they’ve matched this Hunter Valley Leogate Estate Wines 2015 Brokenback Vineyard Shiraz with chef Bryan Anton’s pistachio crusted lamb rack, pea cous cous and tahini cucumber yoghurt sauce. Yum!
