Printhie Wines Swift Rose Brut Sparkling
From the highest vineyards in NSW on the slopes of the extinct volcano Mt Canobolas, an elite range of sparkling wine has been handcrafted by Printhie Wines.
I was recently sent this sample bottle of their Swift NV Rosé (thank you) to give a whirl which Mr Spittoon and I enjoyed with a cheese and meat platter.
This rosé bubbles hailing from the Orange region of NSW is made predominantly of Chardonnay (there’s also Pinot Noir and Reserve wines in there to add complexity). To get that wonderful copper colour, a 2% addition of Pinot Noir red wine is added at disgorgement.
This rosy number snapped up the title of the Best Sparkling at the NSW 2019 Wine Awards.
Here’s what we thought of it:
Pale copper colour in the glass with a lovely array of raspberries, orchard fruits and citrus cream on the nose. In the mouth it has a wonderfully smooth mouthfeel with those red berry fruits flowing through and refreshing citrus zest. Deliciously dry and thirst quenching.
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.
