If you haven’t come across Myattsfield Vineyards in the Perth Hills yet, you’re missing out! I picked up this 2015 Semillon on a visit to the cellar door as I couldn’t get enough of it. I would have loved to have held onto this bottle for a few more years, but alas I’m impatient!
The grapes were sourced from 3 different vineyards in the Perth Hills for this wine. One of those vineyards was planted back in the excellent year of 1986. This wine has seen time in oak alongside having had a bit of lees stirring action. These winemaking techniques help with the aromatics and texture of the wine. Right now the wine is super fresh but if you can hold onto it for a few more years it’ll become nice and toasty & rich.
My tasting note: It’s a pale yellow colour in the glass. Hints of lanolin, floral grassiness, gooseberry and lime skin citrus rise from the glass. While in the mouth it’s creamy with bright acidity. It’s a dry, crisp and incredibly refreshing wine.\

Check out this eye catching bottle! This Rosé is from a new range of wines made by Freixenet. There are 2 still Italian wines in the range – this Rosé and a Pinot Grigio and I have been lucky enough to sample them recently (thanks Nat!). Both retail for $26 and can be found at…
When I see ‘butter’ on a Chardonnay label, I know it’s going to be that creamy, delicious style of Chardy I love. I also think Butterball would be a great name for a cat. Yes, I am a Crazy Cat Lady! This Evans & Tate 2017 Chardonnay from Margaret River (WA) I picked up for about $15….
