Joseph Perrier Cuvée Royale 2002 Champagne
Wine not right I spotted this Joseph Perrier Cuvée Royale 2002 Champagne on special at Dan Murphy’s and couldn’t resist.
I’d say it’s definitely at its peak this one (probably why it was on special). However it still kicked off our night on a good note.
Fun fact: Joseph Perrier was once a favourite of HRH Queen Victoria, and is symbolised by the royal seal adorning each bottle.
In the glass it’s definitely showing it’s age as it has a nice golden colour to it. Cooked fruit spiked with vanilla and spice cone through on the nose. While in the mouth orchard fruits dominate with a zesty grapefruit bite. Rather refreshing for a champagne of its age.
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!
