FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Drink Wine Day – Feb 18th
Australia, New Zealand and everyone worldwide – we have a serious problem! Feb 18th is the National Drink Wine day in the USA – but what about the rest of us? I’m putting my foot down and saying that we NEED to make Feb 18th from here on out, Global Drink Wine Day! I don’t know about you guys, but I’ll surely be celebrating with a bottle or 3.
The National Drink Wine Day website says:
The purpose of National Drink Wine Day is to spread the love and health benefits of wine. Wine has played an important role in history, religion and relationships. We embrace the positive benefits of wine such as new friends, reduced risk of heart disease and the enhancement of food and life”.
I can’t think of a better reason to celebrate – and an even better reason to spread the wine love internationally.
It’s utterly shocking that a country like Australia doesn’t have a National Drink Wine Day of their own seeing as Australia is home to over 60 amazing wine regions like the Margaret River, Barossa Valley, Hunter Valley and more!
It’s estimated that Aussies consume over 530 million litres of wine per year – that’s about 22 litres per person. I’d like to hope the TC readers put a good dent in that figure!
So what I am saying is let it be international from 2016 onwards and make it officially Global Drink Wine Day on February 18th every year. To get the momentum rolling let’s take over social media using the hashtag: #GlobalDrinkWineDay
The next question is what wines to crack for such a momentous occasion??
Pass the vino! Eyes on You Media
That’s the attitude we want to hear Linda! Cheers!
I’ll drink to that!
Haha so I take it you’re on board then Darby? And yes, it’s complete sacrilege with the spilling 🙂
Bloody good idea! But not like the lady above who thinks it is global spill wine day!
